Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed amongst Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities & Amazon Seller Private Limited on today

A Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed amongst Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD),  Government of India,  Skill Council for Persons with Disabilities (SCPwD) and Amazon Seller Private Limited on today. The main objective of this MoU is to jointly provide skill training and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities in e-commerce sector. It envisages mobilisation of PwDs for skill training by the DEPwD, designing of job roles for e-commerce sector by SCPwD and providing skill training and hiring of PwDs by Amazon. Such initiatives of all the parties would create better opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by imparting job specific, practical and e-commerce skills in the supply chain sector to enhance their sustainable employability in the job market as well as to enable them to become entrepreneurs.

Dr. Virendra  Kumar, Minister,  SJ&E graced the occasion by his presence in the MoU signing ceremony held at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.
On the occasion, Minister said that it is also desired by  Prime Minister that  private companies should be associated for empowering PwDs by providing them employment opportunities and making them self reliant. Minister said keeping in mind Aatm Nirbhar Bharat, not only private companies such as Amazon but also Society should come forward and together to make Divyangjan Aatm Nirbhar (Self-reliant).

Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, DEPwD while appreciating SCPwD and Amazon for joining hands with Department in its endeavour to make PwDs empowered, said number of trained/employed PwDs under the programme should be tracked and efforts should be made to provide employment opportunities to PwDs from Jobs in warehouses to making them  entrepreneurs.

DEPwD was represented by Shri Kishor B. Surwade, Deputy Director General, SCPwD by Shri Ravindra Singh, CEO, Amazon Seller Private Limited by Shri Akhil Saxena, Vice President, Operations APAC/MENA/LATAM.

NSDC Notice:
Extension in validity of Conditionally Accredited and Accredited Training Centers on Skill India Portal:

As per notice dated 24th December 2020 on Skill India Portal, the Accreditation validity extensions were provided to support Training Centers in order to overcome the financial and operational constraints experienced due to the outbreak of COVID 19 leading to nation-wide lockdown and restrictions imposed by the State/UT governments following the defined protocols. Moreover, extensions were also provided to maintain the continuity of the schemes. Even before that first extension was provided on Mar 2019 during transition from SMART to SkillIndia portal. Thus, for the last three and half years, Training Centers infrastructure and other resources such as trainer, center staff etc. have not been inspected/validated since then.

As per the process validity of Accreditation and Conditional Accreditation are as follow:
Accreditation type PMKK Non PMKK
Conditionally Accreditation Period 1 year 6 months
Accreditation Period 2 years 1 year
Various schemes are requesting to know the Accreditation and Affiliation status of Training Centers but due to periodic extensions provided over last three and half years actual/validated/inspected status is not available.

Inline to above-mentioned, it is to inform that no further extension will be provided with effect from 3rd Oct 2022 and Job Roles will be De-Accredited in phases based on the valid date of Accreditation (Annexure 1).

Renewal of Accreditation:

Training Centers can initiate Re-Accreditation process to renew Accreditation validity. Re-Accreditation process begins with Re-Accreditation DA (RE-Acc. DA) and concludes with Re-Accreditation Inspection (Re-Acc. Ins.).

Re-Acc. DA option is available to Training Centers which have completed the Affiliation for all Accredited / Conditionally Accredited job roles. Training Centers which have not completed the Affiliation, must complete by paying the respective Affiliation Fee.

Steps for Re-Accreditation:

Step1: Login to SkillIndia Portal with Training Center credentials.
Step2: Click on ‘My CAAF Submit’ and scroll down to ‘Added Job Role’ table.
Step3: Check for Affiliation status against Accredited/Conditionally Accredited job role. (Affiliation payment link gets enabled only after Continuous Monitoring fee payment and available under Action column against respective job role).
Step4: If/Once all Accredited/Conditionally Accredited job roles are Affiliated, Training center can Click on Re-Accreditation DA and will select the job role for Re-Accreditation.
Step5: Training Centre will submit the CAAF form with Required/Desired changes for Desktop Assessment.
Step6: Once Deemed Ready, Training center must apply for Scheme Recommendation.
Step7: After Scheme approval Training Center must apply for Re-Accreditation Inspection.

Note: The Accreditation will be granted basis the Inspection outcome.

People with Disability have been the hardest hit due to the unprecedented situation the world has ever witnessed due to covid and it’s after Marth effects. Statistics reveal that close to 200 million suffered economic losses around the world and 150 Million people have fallen behind poverty. Therefore a series of sensitization workshops are planned to include Persons with Disability in all mainstream economic activity.
